Import a new Microsoft Word dictionary:
This link leads to a description and
directions of how to install a new dictionary into MS Word. Useful within a survey office when
spell checking technical terms within a survey.
Export
your Microsoft Word dictionary: This link leads to a description and directions of
how to export a dictionary from one machine, to be imported in others. Very
useful when ready to send your manuscript in for English edit. Send a copy of
your technical terms dictionary with it, could save the editor a lot of time.
Printing options
and illustrations: New printing options for soil survey reports and new
guidelines for illustrations and prewritten materials prepared by Suzie Meierdierks, Editor, MO 13.

Guidelines for submitting
manuscripts for review: “Preparing a Survey for English Edit in Region 8”
sets out guidelines and requirements for preparing the edit-ready manuscript
package.
Schema
flowchart: The “Soil Survey Manuscript Preparation, Editing, and
Publication” flow chart updates the previous version with the addition of web
soil survey and printing processes.
Guidelines and Requirements for using Graphics: “Graphics Used in Digital
Soil Survey Reports” sets out the guidelines and requirements for preparing
photographs and line drawings for soil surveys.

for everyone. Includes terms like 10 Y R, 5 R, etc. Be sure to get directions
for importing data dictionary from above. Simply click on the link then choose
