Tucson Plant Materials CenterEstablished 1935
 

The Tucson Plant Materials Center has provided plant solutions for the unique environment of the Sonoran, Chihuahuan and Mohave deserts for the past 68 years. The Center has released a variety of conservation shrubs and grasses including ‘Santa Rita’ fourwing saltbush, ‘Loetta’ Arizona cottontop and ‘Stevan’ plains bristlegrass, and worked on issues ranging from wildfire rehabilitation, mining reclamation and riparian improvement to low water landscaping and improved range forage production.
