Resource Conserving Crop Rotations and Resource Conserving Crops
Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)

If these resource conserving crops are part of a resource-conserving crop rotation(s), a CSP participant may receive a supplemental payment.

Resource Conserving Crops
  1. Perennial grass, legume, or grass/legume used as forage, seed for planting, or green manure:
    Bermuda (seed & hay), tall fescue, orchard grass, timothy, alfalfa
  2. High residue producing crop:
    Sorghum (grain), millet (grain), sudan grass, small grains (wheat, barley, oats)
  3. Cover crop following an annual crop-crop residue must not be removed:
    Small grains (oats, barley, wheat), ryegrass (cereal, annual), Triticale
