Timelines for AZ State Technical Committee & Local Work Group Meetings

 

This schedule of activities will be followed as closely as possible.

Last Tuesday of January State Technical Committee Meeting. Tribal Subcommittee and Program Subcommittees meet in the afternoon to make recommendations on program changes
By
March 1
NRCS State Office will send the Local Work Group package to each of the Conservation Districts and NRCS District Conservationist for recommended changes. NRCS District Conservationists will work with their Conservation Districts to schedule Local Work Group meetings.
Last Tuesday of April State Technical Committee. Review of State level priorities, identification of priorities from other State, Tribal and Federal agencies.
By
August 1
Local Work Group recommendations will be provided to the NRCS Field Office District Conservationist. This gives Local Work Groups 5 months to hold Local Work Group meetings.
By
August 7
District Conservationists summarize the Local Work Group recommendations and transmit the recommendations to the NRCS State Conservationist.
By
August 30
NRCS State Office will compile the recommendations from all Local Work Groups, the State Technical Committee and subcommittees. Program managers will meet with Program Subcommittees to develop responses on Local Work Group recommendations. Program managers will recommend program changes to the State Conservationist.
By September 1 NRCS State Office will then send the Local Work Group recommendations and NRCS proposed changes to the State Technical Committee (which includes all Conservation District Chairs) for review prior to the October State Technical Committee Meeting.
Last Tuesday of October State Technical Committee will meet to make final recommendations to the State Conservationist.
By
November 15
State Conservationist will make final decisions for the program year, and transmit those to the NRCS Field Offices and Conservation Districts. NRCS will also maintain all of the information on the NRCS Arizona web page for public review throughout the year.
